Julio Idrovo travels to the World University Weightlifting Championship in Nize, France 
ECUADOR, 11/07/2005. Ecuadorian Julio Idrovo left Tuesday July 5th for Nize, France, where he will take part in the World University Weightlifting Championship in the 69 Kg category on July 8th- At this event in 2003 in Pavia, Italy, Idrovo took the gold medal and was proclaimed World Champion.
This time he will be seeking his second world title for which he has been training twice a day, seven days a week, with the goal of arriving in the best of condition for this world event. This sportsman from Cuenca has achieved teat results during his sports career and has been declared best in his sport on various occasions. It should be mentioned that Idrovo had a noteworthy performance at the last Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, where he achieved an honorable 11th place.
While training at high level, Idrovo studies Business Administration at the University of Cuenca, where just a few days ago he received his degree as a Commercial Engineer. Julio believes that sport must be a combination of physical and academic effort, and for this reason his preparation has been along these lines.
The delegation includes another sportsman, Marco Culcay, and Coach John Sichel. They will make their best effort to reach their objectives. The competition will be held at 18H00 local time (9:00 am in Ecuador) on Friday the 8th with both sportsmen taking part in the 69 Kg category.
After this event the delegation will leave for Colombia, where they will participate in the Bolivarian Games in the city of Pereira in the month of August.
