Jefferson Perez suffers an injury at only 20 days from the World Tournament 
AREQUIPA-PERU, 18/07/2005. During one his morning training routines in the neighbor country of Peru, the athlete suffered of a TIRON in his right knee, what made him suspend his practices and to be checked by the doctors in a clinic in Arequipa (His training center), who recommended him to suspend his preparation in order to prevent further damage to his knec.
According to the specialists, it is not clear the time that would take the athlete to recover his normal physical form. The medical diagnose indicates a distension of the external ligament in his right leg. This would mean that he’s not participating in the South American tournament in Colombia. This could even mean that he won’t participate in the next world cup in Helsinki-Finland, taking place the next 6th of August.
Before his injury, Jefferson was training normally and even two or three times a day. From now and on, he will have to have two daily rehabilitation sessions and he will be able to go back to his normal routine once he achieves a total recovery.
With his situation, the athlete manifested being worried because of the events in which he was meant to participate are so close, but he manifested that he will be calm and will accept this injury as “sing from his body asking for an obligatory break”. It is also to point out that after the Athens Olympic Games; Jeff hasn’t been able to show his maximum level due to several circumstances this year.
