Jefferson’s successful recovery allows him to participate this Friday on the South American Championship in Cali 
PERU, 21/07/2005. After successful recovery process on his right knee, done by an excellent group of Peruvian doctors and after his last medical check, the athlete is now able to participate on the South American Championship in Cali-Colombia starting this Thursday the 21st until Sunday the 24th.
These competitions will take place on the Pascual Guerrero Stadium.
The inauguration of the event will take place this Thursday at 18H00 and the competitions will start on Friday at 9H00.
The 20Km race in which Jefferson will participate along with Rolando Saquipay, is scheduled for Friday 22 at 17H00 at the Pascual Guerrero Stadium in Cali. According to the latest meteorological reports, the temperature will be bordering the 29°C, with a relative humidity of 80%. This worries the athletes, although with their physical preparation in Arequipa, they will be competing to conquer the first places.
After their participation in Colombia, the athletes will return to Ecuador with the purpose of going through a series of medical and physical exams, and after these, they will travel to Europe to participate in the World Championships in Athletics the next August 6th in city of Helsinki-Finland.
