The Association of Sport Writers of Pichincha Designate Jeff the Best of 2005

ECUADOR, 06/02/2006. Once again the race walker from Azuay, Jefferson Perez Quezada, was elected by the Association of Sport writers of Pichincha (APDP) as the Best Sportsman of 2005 in the assembly held at the social center of the sport writers organization. Winning the World Championship in the 20 kilometer race walk was more than enough to unanimously award the honour to the race walker from Cuenca. The award ceremony was held in the city of Quito at a Gala in which additional awards were presented to different personalities of Ecuadorian sports. In 2005 all the sports awards of Ecuador went to Jefferson. Without a doubt, Jefferson Perez has become the most important icon in the history of Ecuadorian sports.
