Ecuador hopefully awaits the participation of the Ecuadorian Race Walking Team at the World Cup. 
The entire country hopefully awaits the participation of the Ecuadorian Race Walking Team at the World Cup the 13th and 14th of May at Coruña, Spain.
The athletes traveled last weekend to Coruña to participate in the World Cup of Race Walking. The 20K team will be led by the current champion and world record holder, Jefferson Perez, accompanied by: Rolando Saquipay, Andrés Chocho, Xavier Moreno and Patricio Ortega.
The competition will take place this Saturday the 13th of May beginning at 18h30 local time (11h30 in Ecuador) through the main streets of La Coruña on a two kilometer loop. Temperatures between 17 and 17 degrees Centigrade are predicted for the day of the competition.
The athletes will arrive for this competition in their best physical and psychological condition after a month in training camp at Arequipa, Peru, and are ready to give their all to achieve a satisfactory result for our county and at the same time obtain the world team title.
Among the strongest rivals of the Ecuadorian team are the Spaniard, Francisco Fernandez; the Italian, Ivano Brugnetti; the Australian, Nathan Deakes; among other world and Olympic medal-winners. Another rival to be considered, and perhaps the most difficult to overcome, will be the spectators, who will be cheering the local entry, Franciso Fernandez, from the start with the objective of keeping the winners wreath at home.
