Jefferson undergoes rehabilitation after Coruña competition
ECUADOR, 07/06/2006. Two weeks have gone by since the top event of the year for the 20k race walk in Spain. Since then Jefferson has undergone different medical evaluations, receiving an unfavourable diagnosis: torn fibres of the left femoral muscle. The doctors recommended a halt to all physical activity and an immediate four-week rehabilitation program consisting of rest, and daily sessions alternating electrotherapy, magnetic therapy and ultrasound. This process has been carried out in a totally normal fashion, and it is expected to successfully finish in two more weeks.
At the same time Jefferson is in the final phase of work on his Masters Degree in Business Administration, which he hopes to complete in August. Only then will
he be able to decide whether or not to the world competition at Osaka, and after that, the Olympic Games at Beijing.
In addition, these days Jefferson has been responding to invitations made by different institutions both in Ecuador and abroad. Between the 8th and 12th of June he will visit the city of Westchester, New York, at the invitation of the association of Ecuadorians
residing there, and local authorities and diplomats.
After that he will return to Ecuador to continue with his academic and business activities.
