The Instituto de Empresa in Madrid awards a scholarship to Jefferson Perez to study for a Masters in Sports Management 
ECUADOR, 01/11/2007. The most successful Latin American athlete of all time is proud to have received a scholarship to continue his post-graduate studies, this time in Spain. The award was made by the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid through their representatives in Ecuador.
With an undergraduate degree in business and a masters degree in business administration, Jeff said that the foundation for the next stage in his academic career is getting underway in notable fashion. The moment he received the scholarship on the part of the directors of this educational institution, an exultant Jefferson Perez exclaimed, “I appreciate receiving recognition of all types, but this is the best kind, because medals soon tarnish, and parchments deteriorate over time; knowledge, however, is for a lifetime, and for that reason I’ll make the best of this academic scholarship in order to obtain advanced knowledge to transmit to many young people in Ecuador and the world.”
Jefferson expects to begin this masters program in 2009 once he has concluded his almost 20-year sports career. Jeff thanked the Institute for the flexibility in timing they allowed him by not establishing a fixed date to begin his studies, permitting him instead to begin his studies when he feels it is most opportune.
