Jefferson Perez focuses his concentration on the road to Beijing. He will participate in Mexico March 8.

ECUADOR, 03/03/2008. Three-time race walking champion Jefferson Perez stated he had no time to refute expressions by small minds, since his energies are focused on being the best in the world in the next Olympic Games. In a press conference held at the offices of JP SPORTS MARKETING, Jeff said that he is recovering from a series of injuries, the consequence of the great effort he made last year. In addition he mentioned that little by little he is acquiring the rhythm that led him to be considered the best South American athlete in history.

Relaxed and optimistic, Jefferson said, “I’m not in optimum condition for Mexico (the first event of the world circuit on March 8). Nevertheless, I will help my teammate Rolando Saquipay, who as in great condition, to obtain victory in Chihuahua, in addition to achieving a time that will classify him directly for the Olympic Games.”

One hopes that Mexico will provide a brilliant exhibition of race walking that will please the thousands of fans that year after year gather to see the best walkers of the world on the streets of Mexico, and in whose hearts Jeff has a special place as the best representative of Latin Americans in the past decade.

After this event the Olympic team composed of Jefferson Perez, Rolando Saquipay and Andres Chocho will participate in the next events of the international race walking circuit that will end in Russia in the month of September.
